The mission of the Capitol Hill Historical Society (CHHS) is to gather, preserve, and share the history of the communities that have shaped Capitol Hill. CHHS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to providing and supporting an inclusive vision of the neighborhood's history.

Membership in the Capitol Hill Historical Society is open to all who have an interest in supporting our mission and taking active involvement in shaping our organization.

Membership helps keep our society and our history alive! Our members include relatively recent transplants to Capitol Hill, lifelong residents, and everything in between.

All members have the right to vote on issues submitted to membership by the board, to vote on who will hold positions on the board of directors, and to call special meetings of members as needed. Members will also have special/discounted access to local tours and historical events when they become available.

Individual membership is $10 per year. This fee can be waived by performing five or more hours of volunteer work for the society in one calendar year. Volunteer opportunities may include research, scanning of photographs, assisting with social and member events, outreach work, web design and maintenance, and much more.
