About the Event
Join Capitol Hill Historical Society and the team at Seattle Hebrew Academy on the evening of May 21st for an opportunity to explore a notable building on Capitol Hill. Built in 1909 by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart as a boarding school and convent, this stately structure was christened Forest Ridge School in honor of its forest-adjacent location. Following Forest Ridge's eventual move to Bellevue, the building briefly housed Seattle Country Day School until it became the home of Seattle Hebrew Academy in 1973. For this event, we will be joined by Rabbi and Head of School Benjy Owens, who will lead us in a tour of the Academy.
Parking for the event can be accessed from Interlaken Drive, above and to the left of the school's main entrance. We will join Rabbi Owens and enter the school from that location. The tour will last roughly an hour.
